Selvyn is an analyst at heart. He’s spent most of his life training, but that doesn’t mean he’s completely ignored the battlefield. Watching from the sidelines, Selvyn has gained an interesting perspective on fighting, and he uses that to his advantage.
Selvyn has the ability to manipulate wind and water. He is the only Zicarnum in history to be able to control two different elements with only one set of wings. Everyone else on Cinderfal is born with the ability to only wield one element.
His main weaknesses are his insecurities about the strength of his elements and his overall lack of self-confidence.
Safeyya is Selvyn’s big sister, and the sibling he feels closest to. She is courageous and a brilliant strategist. Her status as the youngest Commander in the history of Belarin’s Militia is known across their world. However, so is her Tune status.
As the Lightning Tune, Safeyya is the only current individual alive to be blessed with three sets of lightning wings. This signifies her prowess in her element. She is an immense force to be reckoned with, and Belarin’s foes would be wise to hesitate in her presence.
Selvyn’s big brother Aethyr has the ability to wield fire and lava – both extremely powerful offensive affinities. As a result, he has a quick temper and makes rash decisions. He prizes himself on being a powerhouse, and often hides behind his abilities to protect himself from showing any sort of vulnerability.
His recklessness has been known to cause problems for his siblings.
Aislynn is Selvyn’s oldest sibling. She’s able to wield three elements: wood, earth, and metal. Aislynn is a nurturer by nature, and as the most mature sibling, she tends to take on the role of caretaker.
She’s well-trained in battle and will do anything it takes to defend her siblings from harm.
One of Selvyn’s best friends. She is a vegetarian, and is kind but hot-tempered. She has an affinity for wood, and her weapon of choice is a thorny vine whip. She enjoys her time with Selvyn and Alexyo, but tends to frustrate them with her continuous need to try to get them to stop eating meat.
Selvyn’s best friend. Alexyo tends to take everything in stride as it comes to him. He’s not one for major planning, and enjoys relaxing, though he does not slack on combat training. As an earth wielder, he’s skilled at hand-to-hand combat, and has bulked up his physique as an extra layer of power. The strength and level-headedness of his earth attribute helps offset the quick-tempered nature of his fire affinity.
Safeyya’s oldest and closest friend, whom she trusts dearly. With a dual affinity for metal, Melandria is a guard in the Militia. However, she has other duties assigned to her directly from the Council, and she is ascending ranks quickly. Due to her relationship with Safeyya, she tends to go easy on Selvyn whenever he gets in trouble.
Klaryk is another guard with a dual affinity for metal. As per usual with metal wielders, he is able to rapidly fashion formidable weapons in mere seconds, and use them with deadly precision. He prefers to keep to himself.
Piero is the Ice Tune, but does not have much experience as one. As he has only recently become a Tune, his ice skills are well progressed, but he now has untapped potential that needs to be unlocked through further training. No one knows much about him other than his handsome appearance and frank approach to conversating.
Genesis is the Wind Tune, and Gyllien’s twin. Like his sister, he has also had his third set of wings for several years. He has a unique ability among all Zicarna to mask his affinity from being traced. His command of the wind is unmatched, and he does his best to propel his enemies away from himself, rather than use his power for attack.
Gyllien is Genesis’ brother, and she has been the Wood Tune for several years already. She is extremely well trained and prefers defensive tactics, as she and her brother are pacifists. She loves Belarin dearly, but tends to stay away from the city due to political reasons.
Consisting of five members of various affinities, the Council is the political force in Belarin. They have control over the city’s Militia, and rule through various other means. Their agenda is questionable at times.
